ENTRE is a platform for entrepreneurship in the art schools.
The site contains materials for both students, teachers and educational developers.
ENTRE WIKI is a reference platform with knowledge that relates to entrepreneurship as a field of knowledge in arts educations – and elsewhere.
The wiki brings together theories, models, concepts and approaches from both practice and theory. The content can be used in both the core subject teaching, master’s teaching, KUA (artistic research) and in entrepreneurship teaching as such.
ENTRE DEBAT is a live format as well as a podcast. Watch or listen to the various events where artistic entrepreneurship, sustainable working life and art education are discussed by teachers, students, principals and people from the surrounding industries.
The ENTRE Case collection arose out of a need for a place where teachers from the seven institutions can share examples of how teachers, students and graduates develop teaching and artistic practice in ways that touch on entrepreneurship as a field of knowledge in art education.
Samlingen bidrager til, at vi kan få øje på bredden i kunstnerisk entreprenørskab og dermed også hvad det er, vi definerer som noget, der knytter an til kunstnercentrisk og kulturelt entreprenørskab.
We see it every day among students and teachers – the initiative, the creative power, the spark in the artistic practice. But where can we see that entrepreneurship helps lift initiatives in artistic practice? That is what we share in this collection.
One goal of ENTRE CASE is to support knowledge sharing across professional and artistic perspectives. The collection is continuously growing and is open to contributions from everyone at the art schools.
The starting point for ENTRE Seminars has been the desire to learn more about what it means to be a teacher at an art school today. The seminars are organized with the aim of creating a shared space where there is time and space to look at one’s own practice as a teacher and ask oneself the questions that often fall into the background in the busy everyday life at an art school. We visit the question of how we meet the generation of students who are in the art schools now, and how we meet the cultural life of which they become a part. Questions like: How do I teach? and: Is this what I want as a teacher, and how does it work in relation to the objectives described for the education and the institution? will be recurring. And underneath it all runs a common thread in entrepreneurship as a field of knowledge that you can work with in the development of a teaching position and in meeting the students. The framework for the seminars is a space for conversation and reflection, with input from researchers, philosophers and others who can enrich the conversation about teaching positions in art schools today. It has been a goal that the participants can mutually inspire and challenge each other based on their own practice and experience from various art institutions.
EntreNord is a collaboration between CAKI, Karlbak and KreaNord, Nordic Council of Ministers, beginning in 2012.
The purpose of the project was to strengthen the work with entrepreneurship in the artistic programs and growth layers through a variety of different dissemination activities.
The first phase of EntreNord unfolded in 2012 through five workshops for teachers in arts education in the Nordic region and culminated in a joint Nordic conference in Copenhagen in November 2012 called ‘EntreNord. From Student to Proffessional in the Creative Fields.
The second phase of EntreNord was realized from January 2013 to December 2014: Ten workshops and two Gatherings and a EntreNord Conference titled ‘Teach the Teacher’.
In January 2015, the project went into its final phase as part of KreaNord, as KreaNord as a project was closed down by NCM in the summer of 2015. EntreNord as a project has been on stand-by since 2016.
The EntreNord platform, entrenord.dk, was launched in the summer of 2013 as part of Kreanord.org. CAKI was running the platform from 2015 – 2023. The purpose of entrenord.dk was to ensure the collection and dissemination of entrepreneurial elements in the arts educations and growth environments in the Nordic region, thereby strengthening the professional creative and artistic environments in the Nordic region, with a particular focus on education environments and growth layers.
The content of the platform aims to help strengthen the professional opportunities for artists and creators as well as contribute to the further education of teachers, focusing on shaping and strengthening students’ and graduates’ entrepreneurial prerequisites, helping them build and sustain an independent professional practice.
The platform disseminated teaching materials, knowledge and networks from the individual Nordic countries. By the end of 2014, more than 100 cases had been collected on the platform. The platform was closed in 2022.
In 2015 the EntreNord consultants offered to visit educational programs, projects and organizations working with entrepreneurship for artists in the Nordic region. EntreNord Consulting Services met the need for knowledge-on-demand, local use of general experience and flexibility in the form of shorter meetings with many teachers, as an alternative to sending one or few teachers to conferences for several days.
The experiences from EntreNord confirm that the work with entrepreneurship in the artistic education programs and in the creative growth environments in the Nordics is driven forward by a comprehensive and versatile mix of talented, courageous and skilled teachers. Teachers who work to enhance the professionalization of the students and graduates through solid commitment and a willingness to explore and challenge how artists can influence, refine and contribute to our surrounding community as part of a professional artistic practice.
Nevertheless, there are still many students, graduates and professionals, who do not find that their artistic skills and potentials can adequately develop into an independent, professional artistic practice. Among other things, it is evident that many find it hard to make a living from their art or design background after graduation. At the same time, there is no doubt that art and design play key roles in our society, and there is a need for and demand for the artistic and creative skills.
The question EntreNord leaves behind is how we, as educators, equip students and creative growth environments to explore more opportunities in their professions, as well as how we can help strengthen the prerequisites of students and graduates to create a stabile working life.
